Our Expertise Areas
Our Expertise Areas
Our laboratory studies focus on elucidating the cellular and molecular mechanisms of cancer, as well as developing effective and innovative therapeutic strategies targeting disease processes established in experimental models. In this context, identifying potential therapeutic and/or prophylactic agents, evaluating their efficacy, and revealing their molecular mechanisms of action are among our primary research objectives. Our main research areas are summarized below:
In vitro and experimental modeling across different cancer cell lines
Development of experimental disease models using various cancer cell lines; in these models, the evaluation of fundamental biological processes such as cell proliferation, apoptosis, cell cycle regulation, migration, and invasion.
Analysis of molecular signaling pathways
Analysis of the expression levels of critical genes and proteins involved in cancer development, progression, and treatment response using Real-Time PCR, Western blot, and related molecular techniques.
Drug response, drug resistance, and mechanisms of action
Investigation of the cytotoxic, apoptotic, oxidative, and signaling pathway–mediated effects of chemotherapeutic agents, biologically active natural compounds, nanoparticle-based systems, and novel potential therapeutic candidates on experimental cancer models; elucidation of mechanisms underlying drug resistance.
Targeted, innovative, and translational therapeutic approaches
Identification of cancer cell–specific molecular targets; development of new therapeutic and/or prophylactic agents directed against these targets; evaluation of their efficacy in experimental models; and studies aimed at translating fundamental findings into clinical applications within a translational research framework.
